Description
Neutrinos have the unique characteristic of being able to propagate relatively unhindered from the depths of core-collapse supernovae (CCSNe). In this talk, I will introduce the neutrino messenger and discuss how it will facilitate the study of core-collapse physics. I will cover recent developments in such topics as the study of the stellar compactness, black hole formation, the red supergiant problem, and the diffuse signal of CCSN neutrinos. Time permitting, I will also walk through what may follow from the first moments of a Galactic supernova.
